I was on the inaugural QF26 from HND to SYD on 1st August with Mrs_O and Master_O. There was a bit of a gathering at gate 147 prior to boarding with plenty of photo ops. I snapped a couple of pictures for posterity.

The aircraft was scheduled as an older 4 class bird which suited me as I had preselected 4A and 4E (old F seats) however it got subbed for a refurb, which was probably deliberate so all the guests of QF in J had Skybed Mk II instead of the older sloping Mk1s, but it was a downgrade for us, lol.

I didn't notice any particular changes to service but then we were busy looking after Master_O.

The keener eyed among you may spot a classic QF inconsistency in one of the photos..... :)

Its interesting that the Oneworld website lists benefits of OW Sapphire as "Priority" boarding and OW Emerald as "Preferred" Boarding..Technical definition please anyone??

I've noticed something else as well. Not sure if it's the light or what, but are those signs in Pink and not Red? Haven't seen that before when boarding.

It must be dodgy lighting. The signs were definitely red. Compare with the pink in the QF uniform.
