At what time is the inaugural Singapore Airlines A380 scheduled to arrive in Sydney? What is its current ETA?
The flight does not appear to be listed at Welcome to Singapore Airlines: Asia's leading airline with flights serving over 35 countries The flight number is SQ380.
EDIT: OK got it - from today's SMH. The aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Kingsford Smith at 5:25pm today, Thurs 25 October so it has probably departed SIN by now. Assuming a 9.5 hour flight + fly-pasts in SIN and SYD adding 1.5 hours to the flight, it is likely to have departed SIN at about 0630 SYD time (0430 SIN).
EDIT 2: Hmm - wrong assumption above. Searching the Singapore Airlines flight status web site, I have found the flight - it departs SIN 0800 local time, arrives SYD 1725. That equates to 7h 25min in the air. Seems short, especially given added time to allow for fly-past activity - or does the A380 have a much faster cruising speed than the 747 etc? Seems unlikely.
Before landing in SYD there is a plan, subject to weather, for the A380 to fly down Sydney Harbour from 4:45pm. See the SMH article, which includes a description of the route it will take around Sydney, here: Now you can hop on a double-decker bus to Sydney - Travel - smh.com.au.
Another question for which I can't find the answer: At what time tomorrow will the A380 depart Sydney tomorrow?
