For anyone interested in being able to logon onto the Internet whilst in the sky the following link shows which airlines are offering the service and their respective flight numbers:

Connexion by Boeing

Works a treat on SQ from SIN/SYD. Make sure it's a 747 service.

Also used it on LH from BOS/FRA.

The link above is not realistic for SQ. About half the 747's have now been fitted. While some routes are more likely than others, there are no guarantees (despite SQ marketing to the contrary).

Has anyone seen any announcements from Qantas about plans for in flight internet access?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Not true on fleet status. Very large % (much more than half) of SQ 747-400's have the service available. I have contact @ BoeingConnexion.

Real flight experience since Nov 05 with multiple flights between SIN & SYD each month since I've only had two flights without availability. Total flights = 24.

Fair enough on the link though (it still says selected flights).

I was going by a thread over on FT, plus mine and other FTers experiences which suggested still significant numbers of 747s yet to be fitted with Connexion.

12 round trips SYD-SIN-SYD in 5 months is quite a lot. Are you PPS?

Yes. Was already UA 1K & not scoring any points bonus on the SQ flights so signed up. Made PPS pretty quickly with 2xD *A RW + an F up thru Asia last year.

* Continued investment in new domestic and international Qantas Club lounges, new inflight product for the A380s, and new technology, with Internet check-in and expanded inflight connectivity planned.

I'd wait till around A380 delivery time.. I believe it will be still be called Q-NET. Onboard aircraft with the AVOD system, you can see Q-NET is an option, however it is blanked out/disabled [found on main menu].

Regards

Which should make it roughly the same time (or slightly later) that NZ is reported to be adding it.
