I'm stepping down from the AFF editor role

I completely echo what everyone has said @Mattg. So grateful to have learnt so much from you. You are incredibly smart and down to earth. I am sure your next move will be great and the industry will continue benefiting from you.

Matt, in every industry, there is usually 'one guru' that is the true expert - you certainly fill that role in the frequent flyer travel space - look forward to your contributed contributions and thank you for everything!!

As some of you are already aware, I'm stepping down from my role as AFF's editor at the end of this year.

I've been in this role since 2015, and it's been quite a journey. I'm very proud of what AFF has achieved over that time, and I'm happy to have had the chance to meet and perhaps even help many of you. But the time has now come for me to move on to a new challenge.

I will still contribute to AFF for the foreseeable future, both as a freelance writer next year and as a member of this wonderful community. I just won't be the person behind the AFF Editor account going forward, which will become a general editorial account next year. Going forward, you can still reach me on my personal AFF account @Mattg.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past 11 years, and thank you for helping to make AFF such a passionate, welcoming, knowledgeable and generous community. It wouldn't be the same without you, and I hope to see many of you again at future AFF events!

All the best and safe travels,
Matt Graham
Good effort Matt. All the best for the future. I have always enjoyed your content :)

All the best Matt. I've learnt a lot from you for the short time I've been with AFF. You'll be missed.

Thanks @Mattg ! I’m still fairly new here, but your articles have always been a great read, inspiring, informative, and full of things I definitely wouldn’t have known otherwise. Your insights on flights and hotels have saved us from more than a few newbie traps.

Your expertise (and patience with beginners like us) will definitely be missed. Wishing you all the very best with your new endeavor, I’m sure you’ll smash it. ;)

As a mature age traveller, I no longer have the capacity to fly as much as I would like, but since discovering AFF I've enjoyed reading the reports from FF members and picking up a few tips along the way.
The standout has been the intelligent and thoughtful articles from @Mattg which fuel my wanderlust and keep me hoping to make that next trip, in comfort, sooner rather than later. And yes, another one is coming up in 2026!
So I know I'm not alone in saying 'Thanks Matt' for the reviews, reports and advice for the Not -So-Frequent Flyers who want to be.
And good luck with whatever you do next!

@Mattg - I always really appreciated how you took persistent issues from the community, and went to the airlines for answers and solutions. They were often things that had a huge impact on members here, but would be stuff that mainstream media lacked the depth to understand or bother with.

Partner reward ticketing at Qantas, whilst not completely perfect is no doubt in a much better place due to your advocacy. Plus many other instances including individual injustices that you took on and got resolved. I hope this is something your successor continues with.

I look forward to seeing what you do in the future. All the best and thank you.

Matt you will obviously be sorely missed by so many of us. I will especially miss the podcasts. Your positivity and warmth shines through so much in your voice on that platform. Onwards and upwards for you!
