But seriously.....

So yesterday I did what I swore I never would. Applied for the Amex/Qantas card, greenlighted instantly and now I'm an "adult" (at 44 years old).

The intention being to purchase 2x SYD-JFK tickets and burn the remainder of the 3k spend on fuel, groceries, etc. As some may know I'm an apprentice in this game so am sitting at a lowly 15k Qantas points so really wanted a decent shot in the arm as far as boosting them up. Coming up this week is my first ever milage run SYD>MEL>CHC>BRS>SYD which I'm excited about......mostly because I'll be spotting at a couple of new airports.

Later in Feb is a trip to India/Nepal but sadly booked prior to becoming FF cough so I'm flying Airasia X. Dom in India is all on Jet Airways thus far and hopefully I can transfer points once they post. After booking accom via Booking.com I received an email from Jet stating that if I booked accom via their site I could earn points after my stay.....of course I summarily cancelled all hotels and rebooked through them.

Today whilst searching through the archives here I came across a thread suggesting Kaligo as an awesome booking option for points, checked and it looks great....but for next time, I don't want to rebook everything AGAIN!!

Also, again due to the archive, I've been writing hotel reviews like a crazy man over at Hotel Check. 150 Etihad Guest points per accepted review!!

Anyway, this was just a thank you to all for the extraordinary info you guys share so freely. I feel like I'm finally moving forward with this.

But seriously......

Keep it up and you may quite genuinely feel a bit homeless.

I often hear the Joe Walsh song "Life's Been Good" and relate to at least some of the lyrics.....

I have a mansion, forget the price
Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice
I live in hotels and tear at the walls
I have accountants pay for it all.......

Well.....I can relate to at least a bit of it (forget the mansion bit though and I don't tear out many hotel walls).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

qiktune....oh dear me. You are not an adult until you have done the dreaded 'walk of shame.'

cheers

He's taken the bait boys, now start reeling him in. He'll soon be one of us

As I read the first post in this thread the lights went out and I could hear a maniacal laugh, "Mwa-ha-ha-haaaa".

Enjoy the ride - it's hard to get off.
