From news.com.au:

JETSTAR Pacific, the Vietnamese arm of Australia's budget airline brand, has lost its chief executive, leaving Qantas to deal with emerging ideological differences with the nation's Communist Government.
The move is a major setback for the Australian carrier, which is under orders from the Vietnamese Transport Ministry to strip the Jetstar name and distinctive orange branding off the six-jet fleet by October because it is "too Australian".

Cant say any of that is overly surprising.

Hopefully QF/JQ have a watertight contract.

I'm trying to work out how orange stripes and the name "Jetstar" are TOO Australian????

Well Jetstar and the orange stripes are very well known australian brand images (whether we hate JQ or not we know it exists) and thus it is no different to branding something "Skippy Air" or "Vegemite Airlines"

I was thinking the same, lots of orange in the Australian flag ;)

In fact, they could almost pass the orange off as a faded-red, and with the star that makes the Vietnamese flag. Slightly different, but very similar. Would take much to slightly alter the colours to appease the government.

You have your red and yellow the wrong way round. The star is yellow the red is the background colour.

Not much green and gold in the Australian flag either and every sporting event that features an Australian national team has those colours...

Lets paint a 3 legged dog on it and tell the government we based our new logo on your cuisine!! :D:D

Memo to Marketing

We tried a red star but the Aussies thought it was too commie.

Rebrand as "Jester" Airways coz we get a great chuckle down here in the Customer "Service" Dept.

Jetstar Pacific has in fact caused a lot of stir in Vietnam recently. A former chief engineer, who had been sacked for some reason, sent some photos to several news outlets claiming that the airlines had not done proper maintenance to its fleet. Photos as attached.

All nicely close up so there no way of telling which a/c or airline it's from!

Like this one of a QF flap that I managed to grab a pic of recently:
