Ideas on booking Thailand flight?

Hi 2 people want a flight to Krabi or coughet. Leaving from Hobart. Departure date is a bit fluid, from 29 January to 2nd February. Return to fall within the 60 visa. Hubby says no rush to buy tickets,I think otherwise. Any ideas on this, help a girl out. Usually travel economy, hate layovers over 5 hours. I know I could fly to Melbourne or Sydney then get international flight from there but the trouble is flights get canceled to delayed and you miss your plane, and if not on same ticket you’re screwed.

Also, Lunar New Year is Sat Feb 6, 2027.
Expect crowds everywhere in Asia and expensive hotels, air fares etc.

Book now if you can find seats and hotel rooms.

Agree with above. Book sooner than later for the above reason and in addition as Orange man's actions in Iran, plus general avoidance of the US, put extra demand on bookings through Asia, so will also keep demand higher than normal over the coming period when you are going to book. Prices likely to rise longer you wait.

Playing around on google flights is probably the best option to mix and match the right date and fare.

From Hobart you can take jetstar all the way on a single ticket to coughet on your dates for $1165 return per person. Via Melbourne, including bags.

No need to worry about any missed connections because the flights are all on one ticket.

Separately, leaving from Melbourne you can get Jetstar for about $950 including bags, or Singapore airlines for $890 - with bags and food and entertainment included! But that’s separate tickets, so you’d have to factor in maybe a night in Melbourne, plus of course the airfare to Melbourne!

Jetstar is looking like the best option.

Given the base fare from Melbourne is $760 (before bags) return… that’s a pretty reasonable low fare. They do have sales. but not usually for that peak time.
