thought I would get a 'second opinion' from the forum.

I am organising a May trip for somebody who needs to fly into LHR and leave from Dublin. I am told Etihad has the best timetable for that, but I believe these people want to break up their trip with an overnight in SIN/HKG/BKK to cut down the jet lag on their return.

I suggested SQ. Earning points is not important and the only status is Virgin gold, but the best timetables will decide carrier.

Anyone got any advice here?

much appreciated

I would have picked Etihad from the thread title and I’m pretty sure there are some sales on now that take into account the new partnership, which helps with the DJ-G status too.

For Virgin Golds (and I'm assuming here that by Virgin you mean DJ/VA and not VS), I'd definitely be looking to utilize the VA/EY codeshares to take advantage of their Gold status

The flight timings are quite decent as well
