Looking for Iceland tour (seven or eight days).
My wife is a keen photographer so is Northern Lights focused.
Will want to see the sights as well but too old for adventure touring these days.
Anybody have first hand experience of tours in Iceland?

I know that Intrepid Travel have Iceland tours. They have small group tours with different comfort styles and they recently started premium tours. They might be worth a look.

Thanks.
Having a look through there now

Anybody else with practical experience of Iceland Tours or travel company knowledge?

One thing to consider is that with all the recent volcanic eruptions some roads and blue lagoon have been closed numerous times this year.

When I last looked at doing Iceland I planned to go with Nordic Visitor because the standard of accommodation looked far superior to Intrepid and they were local Visit Iceland with the experts on one of these tours

If its mainly the northern lights you want to see then you can also consider Norway, Canada, Lapland or Alaska.

We used Nordic Visitor. We visited in December-January so our focus, too, was the Northern Lights. Having said that we quickly became enraptured with all other aspects of the country as well!

Nordic Visitor is based in Iceland so they know the country better than anyone, and their local knowledge is invaluable. Very highly recommended.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just wondering if Iceland is essential, or the Norther Lights? As pointed out, there are risks with Iceland due to volcanic activity.

Are other places like Lapland an option for you? Just returned from Lapland and it was stunning.

Thank you.
We are looking at doing Norway cruise after Iceland tour as well.

Apparently not interfering with tours at the moment

You don’t need a tour to see the lights.
They have a website with the expected solar activity and cloud levels. You just need something to do until the right day. I’d hire a car, base out of a small town like the Breiðafjarðareyjar area (Stykkishólmur) and similar and watch the numbers.

Once they hit about 4 with 0 cloud level it’s basically certain.
