We seem to have hijacked the op's thread hope he or she doesn't mind...
Oops. (At least more posts does keep the thread up the top of the boards) Back on track now. What kind of ship is Hebridean Sky? Luxury? Expedition?

And it is a bit hard to do both as the lights are best in winter and most of the cruises run in summer (except for Hurtigruten and similar which provide services). Someone on here did a TR of a winter cruise though I think.
We are spending 10 days there in March (no cruise) hoping to see the Northern Lights and do some of their other winter activities. Not too worried about the cold, however am a little nervous about driving myself at that time of year

There are quite a few warnings on the trip advisor forum about people trying to drive on the roads in winter, in March.

Interesting following all of the comments and I don't mind being hijacked. We've done two cruises on Island Sky and like the size and the cabins and we are also APT Diamond Club Members so the additional perks are quite valuable. We know Iceland is expensive as APT quoted us $870 for our one extra night in Reykjavik, staying at Radisson Blue, which in our humble opinion is a good hotel but not that special! Fortunately we get an allowance for the extra night so our out of pocket is much less.

"Tours Gallery/Destination Management", based in Brisbane, have an interesting 4WD tour of Iceland, which I think is underway now. We also did a winter tour to Hokkaido with them a couple of years ago and enjoyed it very much. You can google for their website and I have no financial interest in them.

Hi Everyone, this is our cruise map and we have just returned home from it. I will post the first instalment of a TR in the next couple of days and continue it ASAP. A bit jetlagged at the moment from LHR to SYD on Cathay PE. Map is from APT website, thanks APT.

Looking forward to reading your TR. Was on a SS ship a few years ago that called at many of the same ports.

Not sure if I loaded the picture/map correctly. Any advice appreciated before I try the first installment in the TR.
