We stayed at the IBIS hotel for one night on a stopover on the way to Nairobi. The booking was made online on the Ibis website and we got a very good price for a double room. It came out to A$88. A taxi from the airport (T5) cost 13 pounds. The Hoppa bus would have been cheaper at 8 pounds for two people. The rooms were very small. There wasn't enough space for us to open our suitcases. Also, the restaurant was useless. I wouldn't call it a restaurant. It was just a bar with some snack food available like sandwiches or jacket potatoes... nothing resembling a full meal. The location also made it impossible to go out for a wander anywhere and going into town was not economically viable either. I would recommend this hotel only for people who just want to spend a night in a hotel on a stopover and are ok with not leaving their room at all. For the return trip to the airport, we caught the Hoppa bus which only takes you upto T3 from where we had to catch the Heathrow Express to T5 (free). I doubt I would use this Hotel again as I just felt too claustrophobic there and not being able to do anything just made me go mental.
