I was looking on Google, and saw (if I am/was not mistaken), a QF AKL - BNE flight got turned back to AKL?

What I typed was ((QF AKL - BNE schedule)), and what came up was QF126 dep AKL, was diverted in red, AKL to AKL.
Any details?
Ta.
I am taking this flight in Dec, with a transfer back to ADL the day after I arrive in BNE.
Just curious if it was an interesting reason, of course, Google search might have that diversion note up in error.

On looking at QF flight stats on their own website, it said QF126 Cancelled!
Hope its a once off.
Its an A330, and I was really hoping that the flights on this route, by this type of plane, would not be cancelled just like that.
Tomorrow's replacement, (dep 7.xx am) is a B737.

According to QF the flight was cancelled

I wonder if this is related to the replacement of the A330 for my MEL-PER flight tomorrow with a 737.
Could be an aircraft out of service forcing rescheduling.

Why would it be on the news?! It's a cancellation...

There are "cancellations" made more than a week prior, those made within the week and those that occur on the day.

In this case, because it taxiied, probably a tad more 'newsworthy' than the other categories. But media normally only interested in mid air or other potentially worrisome incidents. Media interest rises if it's a higher capacity international flight, especially if there are multiple cancellations, such as seen at times when one or two A388s have become inoperable.

Certainly would be if a celeb or an"influencer" on board.Unfortunately just another slap in the face for us ordinary folk.

They make news out of nothing. So they aren't really celebs, and it isn't really news.

But why is it a slap in the face? Sounds like you think they should have gone flying.

No just the people left behind.Having been once on a plane that got to the runway then went back to the terminal, nothing organised, had to book our own hotel, finally getting a round about trip to Orly instead of CDG and left with no luggage it is a slap in the face.
And I mentioned celebs and "influencers" merely because the media then would have been all over it.
