My miles posted very quickly and I was able to get some nice flights with some searching at the end of the release dates.

With CX flights the problem is that you have to pay the A$80 phone booking fee. The good thing was that there was lots of availability for the dates I was looking at.

Not sure if CX show availability for AA rewards. The AA site doesn't mention CX at all, basically you have to find out when the CX flights depart your location and ask if there are any seats. Of course having lots of options makes it easier.

Ah, that makes sense then. At the moment I am searching in mid November and getting some of those funky "mixed" bookings - seat to Sydney in J and Syd to Honolulu in Y!

I usually find if CX shows up on QFF it will be available on AA.
To find out HKG-USA flights have to use multi trip eg ADL-HKG-LAX.

Thankyou, it's getting clearer with each response. Well, except using Adl - HK - Honolulu has us flying back to Sydney from HKG to get to Honolulu - and doesnt show CX direct. Maybe I am a bit early for Nov with CX.
