I know a lot here spruik about the Conrad Hong Kong, but I have yet to stay there.
I have heard it is very expensive.

It is supposed to be hotel central for HKG Do 2014 but I am scared of checking prices as I dont want to be scarred for life.

Hotel wise: If you can live without extra things like pool, lounge, and other "business type hotels", I can recommend:

Ovolo hotels.

Many in Hong Kong, 1 in Melbourne (not yet been to); with a 2nd here soon to open...

Yes is does provide:

- Breakfast
- Room/suite
- FREE UNLIMITED MINI BAR (refreshed each day)

- FREE "self serve" LAUNDRY (as many washes as needed)

- FREE HAPPY HOUR: Wine, Beer, non alcohol (from 6pm till 8pm if I remember correctly!)

- FREE WIRELESS INTERNET (not slow!)

Funny you should mention Embraer, I love the Embraer E190 (E90) Seat 2A. Taking a flight with it to Townsville (rtn) in June & have flown on it many a time in Brazil. Give the MD's a wide berth if I can, but since they are now Boeing I may just close my eyes and not look out the window. ;)

Well done! It will be a pleasant experience.
They are all not bad machines.. I'm at an age where DC9's & B727's were the work horses. I've had my questionable moments on every type of aircraft & fear of flying moments. It is eventually overcome. :D

Re: Hong Kong Flight & Accomm

SQ 777 Syd - Sin then any number of connecting flights to HKG? And Four Seasons is the only hotel I stay at in Hong Kong. Love it there!

Re: Hong Kong Flight & Accomm

Need more info re Hotel. Price? Location? Any other requirements?

Price: Somewhere between budget & 3-4 stars.
Location: Maybe within 10-15 mins walk from (CBD).
Requirements: Preferably breakfast included & wi-fi in room. Nothing smaller than double bed. (I have QB at home)

thanks

Thanks

can you give me a price range? The star rating may not be an indication of room rates in HK and the range is quite big.

Thanks Winfred. I have decided on this one Ovolo 286 Queen’s Road Central, Central @HKD1400. It has everything that I would require, and not far from the CBD & train to/from airport.

Don't know yet if there are any points in it for me staying there, but have plenty of time to sort that out.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to help. :D

<edit> Now to see about those SQ 777 flights and where from. Perhaps there are 777 flights from SIN to HGK.

cheers

Yes but they were built as MacDonald Douglas, not Boeing before 1997.
