I'll get extra sleep and stay warm before I go. If that doesn't work then I'll just kill the bloody thing with gin on the plane. ;)

Now that I think of it, I believe that was what Dr munitalP prescribed me when I visited his home during Anzac weekend 2010, and I had a bit of the cold. Either gin or bourbon it was.

Whatever it was I wasn't drinking it again; now if only I could use that thought to never get the cold ever again....

I took up the Doctor suggestion and already my cold symptons are easing after 3 days of DIY that did not work.
A day off to avoid spreading it and tomorrow belongs to me.

Yes,that close to a trip it is safer to see your doctor.
For the last 35 years i have hardly had a sick day-only one was with a traumatic rupture of an eardrum. No colds yet i do not take Vit c,echinacea, garlic or anything else except at least a glass of wine a day-much more enjoyable than all that other rubbish.Prior to that the best symptom relief was my grandfathers-hot lemon juice and rum-probably did nothing for the cold but you sure didn't worry about any symptoms.;)

Feeling much better, although will see if it resets tomorrow morning... I hope it's not one of these "feel like cough till 10am" things.

Forget Codral - go the single malt :D

FESS frequent flyer is a very good nasal spray, very natural as well.

Sore throat ? Gargle with warm salt water 4 times a day.

plenty of vit C - take the power, garlic, lemon as TG said.

Drugs only if necessary, can be very drowsey. See a Natropath for longer term remedies, that want get you crook in the first place.

A travel doctor always has good advice IMHO.

Happy Landings!!!

Felt loads better this morning. It could have been the 2500mg of vitamin C and 400mg of B that I took over the course of yesterday (and have continued with today). I also drank a stupid amount of water yesterday and last night.

Or it could have been the single malt. ;)

I still woke up with a scratchy throat and rotten nose, but I am suspecting it has to do with my room hitting 6c over night (according to my thermomeororyry) and being pretty much 0% humidity.

Anyways, 1 more day of practicum left and I'm off to summer. And beer.
