Im sure hes not the first to tick the Im a Terrorist box but maybe ESTA needs to add a "Are you sure youre a terrorist?" pop up when people hit the submit button.
Actually I think I was reading somewhere, not sure if it's accurate, that one reason fpr the question is that it is easier to deport someone for lying on the form
For anyone to determine it is a "silly question", you would have to know exactly why they ask it.
Without going into details, many a time a question is designed to assist in later matters - so a negative response is used against you later...
