Hybrid sitting at the airport

Seems like a strange thing to do.

Why not just leave it at home and get a bus/uber/taxi. etc. etc?
I travelled quite a lot pre covid and didn't have a car. Trains and buses with golf clubs and 3 bags plus stroller etc. Tiring and not cheap. Taxi can be $60-$100 to airport.

A few years back bought a car and now do not use public transport to/from airport. Put everything in my car and head off to Alpha/Andrews parking. Free shuttle to/from airport.

Heading off again soon for 25 days. Alpha parking just over $200 undercover. Gives me peace of mind.

I knew that from previous posts, and I'm a Canberra local. If you're really worried about it, send me a message and I can set up something to look after your car. We AFFers look after each other
You could be on jumper leads standby on day of return. Not sure how you'd enter the car park however.

A month will only be a problem if the battery is faulty; highly unlikely, and not something I’d bother to worry about any more than worrying about a tyre going flat <== comment from a car enthusiast.

Not really, the manual doesn’t mention Every Single Thing.
If you were to leave it for, say, 3 months … that might be a problem, and I doubt the manual mentions that, it kinda fits into the common-knowledge category which isn’t worth documenting (a bit like “drilling holes in your tyres could cause flatness”).
Maybe. Drilling holes is a deliberate action which would affect every tire on every car. Battery drainage is a design issue which could be different for every make and model.

Battery drainage would be a Thing after 3 months for pretty much any modern car, as they all do stuff like running a clock & they all have sensors for remote door unlocking etc.
Having said that, you also probably don’t want to be buying a car battery that’s been sitting on the shelf at the car-battery shop for super-much longer than that, either; they don’t survive forever without a charge.

Hybrid is no different from a normal car in this respect. Maybe purchase a lithium jump starter, $100 on ebay, as a backup, and leave it in the car. Make sure it is fully charged before you depart, obviously.

I've always wondered about using a small solar panel on the dash to meet the 12V battery topped up when not in use without having to disconnect battery.

Maybe something to consider?.

Might have to ask the caravan forums about this
