With the Sofitel Brisbane up for sale , how awesome would it be if Hyatt took over ???? They have a hyatt in every capital city in Australia bar Brisbane, Adelaide ,Hobart . With the commonwealth games coming up on the Gold Coast I think they seriously need to have a hold again in Qld . With 2 hyatts shutting down sure makes it harder to get any further to Platinum status .

We should petition them to take over Sofitel , awesome hotel and site , directly above airport train.

Interesting. A staff member at an Australian Hyatt I frequent had suggested earlier in the year that Hyatt was looking to establish itself in Brisbane. I've never been to the Sofitel but maybe it could become the Grand Hyatt Brisbane.

I would rather see it go back to being a Sheraton again, got great upgrades there including the Royal Suite (two level) when I was SPG plat, although I suspect it will become an IC.

Don't get me excited ,,, Sofitel Broadbeach also on the market . Sheraton four points opening in Brisbane 2014 , good time for hyatt to get in and nudge the competition .
