Looking at SYD/HKG in PE Dep. 13th April return 20th April QF $2307, however if it HKG/SYD its HKG$10880 only AUD$1360, how can they have such a huge discrepancy?.

Huge PE Difference

Pricing varies for different markets. Nothing you can do about it.

If you are travelling there multiple times a year you can take advantage of it with a one way fare to HKG then book return HKG-SYD.

Huge PE Difference

Market forces - most airlines do it.

If you go to HKG multiple times, get a one way ticket there then start buying the return tickets in the reverse order

I just checked those dates - if you go to the next step QF adds fees and charges for HKG bookings (component pricing) - brings it up to HKD13772 - or approx AUD1717. Still $600 difference.

Use a JASA to get to HKG one way and a Classic redemptiong HKG-TPE, then just buy CX ex TPE J fares return for future trips.
