I often take Perth- Geraldton Skywest flight. Although due to the distance of the route, I am only entitle to few hundreds points per sectors, it is still better than nothing. I am having difficulty to credit Velocity points for those flights. Although I provided my Velocity points upon checking-in those Skywest flights, Velocity have never posted those flights. I called Velocity once and their response was to send them an Email with the copy of the ticket. The Email was sent as per their instruction, however, no points were credited. How can I credit those points everyone?

Cheers

Did you book through DJ or directly with Skywest?

Been in the same boat lately. Given they don't seem to quickly post even if the number is listed on your BP, I've just found it easier to do the email submission every time. You get your points, you've just got to be patient, send the scanned boarding pass and wait a couple of months. :)

Definitely not an ideal process but your points eventually get through.

Sorry for digging up such an old thread too :)

Thank you for your reply.

Would you be able to tell me the Email address I can send the copy of the boarding pass to? I think I might have tried that many months ago, but with no result. I often fly into Geraldton, I am very happy with Skywest, however, with poor points earning with Velocity, I will now turn to Qantas Link. I wonder when I will be able to earn status points on Skywest flight.

Again, thank you for your reply.

Velocity - FAQ

This is the link I use. Has all the details there :)

To give you an idea of the lag times for the process, of the flights I have submitted email claims for, my October 10 flight has posted, but my November 1 flight hasn't.

I also had a flight on October 21 which hasn't yet posted which I think I put the FF on at check in, but lost the boarding pass before I could make a claim via email.

Certainly not an ideal system!

I notice on the Velocity website it now states that from July 1, 2012 Skywest flights are eligible for status credits. In the past flights have only been rewarded with velocity points. This is great news as just this week I took 2 flights on Skywest. According to the Velocity site the below is the points earn for Skywest flights.

Promotional Fare - SkyDeal (S, U, G, Q, A, Z)
0.5 Velocity Points
All Other Classes (K, N, O, V, L, H, T, W, M, E, B)
0.75 Velocity Points
Fully Flexible Fare - SkyFlexi (Y)
1 Velocity Point

My question is are all these classes considered full economy for status credit earn or are the promotional fares considered discount economy?

Thanks!

Cheers mate.

Any reason why they've suddenly started offered SC's now and not before? I've taken quite a few Melbourne-Kalgoorlie flights in the past so missed out on a fair few SC's!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It may be worth checking the virgin website for codeshares. I've noticed with a few skywest flights you can get Virgin flexi fare for the same as saver fare on Skywest.
Obviously this would also mean earning points per dollar rather than per mile too - which is usually heaps better for me.

.... EDIT: just noticed how old this thread is...

I assume that if you are a DJ Lounge Member, you have to be on a DJ Skywest codeshare flight to access the PER DJ Lounge ?

Looks like if you book via DJ the basic flight PER - KGI (Kalgoorlie) is $179 (SW) vs $255 (DJ).

Skywest don't have a lounge at PER or elsewhere do they?

Well they definately dont have one here in Kalgoorlie. Ive been booking MEL-KGI tickets on DJ at a great saving usually around $280. Im flying in this coming Tue. via Perth. If i bought tickets seperately id be looking at $500 maybe. I too was wondering if Lounge access was available though my stop over time in PER will be under an hour. coming in on the A320 then onto a F100.
In theory lounge access should be available as both my flights are shown as DJ flights. I'm not a lounge member yet 20 credits off being gold (this trip will see it though)

Yeah this is an old thread, nothing has changed in the crediting of points though. I'm right now submitting 3 claims for points KGI-MEL direct on Skywest. Pity those flights were before the status credit earn. I do love that flight though. 3 hours to get to MEL is awesome.
