How to Book Star Alliance airlines with United MileagePlus site

How do you get Star Alliance partners airlines to show up on the United MileagePlus site please?

How do you get Star Alliance partners airlines to show up on the United MileagePlus site please?

If there are flights between the city pairs with availability, they should just show up. I just did a quick dummy search SYD-SIN and I could SQ flight options.

There used to be a filter to limit results to just UA or show *A but that seems to have gone.

While United MileagePlus has Bonus miles sale, I’m trying to work out if its cheaper to buy and book flights using their three Star Alliance partners for these return business class flights from

CNS to BNE
Stop over

BNE to AKL
Stop over

AKL to APW
Stop over

But none are coming up even there showing on three other sites

The CNS-BNE sector might be the issue. I assume that’s on VA? So not actually *A.

I don’t know if that creates issues redeeming UA pts.

Someone else might have recent experience.
