How to book QF LHR-GLA?

I've tried to book a QF flight LHR-GLA, using the Qantas AU site. I get a message telling me (logically) that I'll be transferred to the Qantas UK site -- and that I can only book the flight using Qantas Classic Rewards points (i.e., I can't just pay for the flight outright). Does anyone know why I'm restricted to payment by points? I could just book through BA, but I assumed I'd get a better haul of FF points if I was able to book a codeshare. What am I doing wrong? Grateful for any help.

In general, you can't book flights on other carriers as standalone cash flights (ie BA LHR-GLA). Can only be booked in connection with a Qantas flight (eg SYD-SIN-LHR-GLA).
