A few days ago I was flying DXB - Kuwait and we were delayed on the tarmac for 2 hours because an elderly lady was really ill. They called a doctor and decided she was too ill to travel. However her son would not allow anyone to remove her from the plane - not even when they called onto the plane the army/police. Even the pilot had no success. So there was this standoff between the son and the authorities.

After 2 hours, they simply gave them a disclaimer to fill out and we then took off.

IS THAT SOP?!!!!

Reminds me the other day I saw a pax ejected from the a/c at the gate. Doors had closed and were reopened with pax being forcibly removed. Not sure what happened - only caught the yelling during exit.

something similar was on airline usa a few weeks back...

has anyone here been thrown off a plane?

No me, but once the captain of a Crash-8 at CBR refused to carry a passenger who has been rude to a flight attendant. The police arrived and escorted said passenger off the aircraft. The captain apologies for the delay, but noted that we will still get to Sydney long before the ejected passenger will, as he will be spending some time explaining his actions to the boys in blue and then driving to Sydney the following day.
