I've only ever flown direct to SIN then on to Europe or wherever. Currently however (as DRRON has pointed out in another thread), there's no availability in any class at any time (at least several weeks either way from when I am looking) from MEL or SYD, so I'm looking at SYD - BNE on VA to connect with BNE - SIN - IST in business. Direct SYD - SIN - IST would be 86k miles. How much extra to add on the VA leg? I can't work it out from the SQ website!

You could book a VA leg separately, but it would be priced as per the Virgin Australia award chart (so 11,000 KrisFlyer miles in Y or 21,000 miles in J) and be on a separate ticket.
