How many Status Credits earned?

I am booking J HKG to NRT which will earn 80SC.

There is another CX flight which goes via TPE to NRT, no change of aircraft. Are the SC earned on this flight 100 or 80?

Probably been asked before but I would appreciate an answer from someone who knows.

Depends, if change of flight number, would get the higher amount, if same flight number likely to be the same.

If you can stop and wait for the next flight through (assuming more than one a day) for little extra $$ then you could do a lot better

But would imagine it should be counted the same as a direct if it keeps the same flight number, unless there's an actual stopover (different day etc).

Regardless, it looks like the direct routing earns you 22 extra points!!

Any multi segment flight using the same flight number will count as 1 flight regardless of if the aircraft changes or not. If HKG-NRT via TPE is a single flight number, it counts as HKG-TPE, just as the non stop would. If you change flight numbers at TPE, it will count as HKG-TPE+TPE-NRT.

If you are chasing SC look at getting to TPE then TPE - NRT. Can be a reasonable deal on offer through CX site TWN

Thanks, I have now incorporated TPE into the itinerary, the S/O did not impact the price.
