How many AFFers will be on the first JQ787 commercial service MEL OOL Nov 13?

Sounds intriguing and exciting.

Yeah was rather disappointed they would hold me in suspense like that. So long as I get some form of certificate to say I was onboard (a la United) I am not really fussed. Just hope its not a lot of build up like a certain cruise line did to me recently when I was taken away by them for the launch of their new ship and the event tanked because the marketing department had built it up so much.

Whaaaa? I ended up booking the 4:30pm flight - and now you're telling me I could've waited and not come home on another boring old A320? :(

Well that's what is coming up in my newsfeed - what more would you like me to say? If it is wrong - and I hope so because bloody hell they mess people up a lot - then I'm happy to retract it.

According to Jetstar the first flight is now on the 14th (?)

Lucky I ordered a jumbo popcorn.

One person started a false rumour on Facebook over a typo on the JQ Facebook competition. They have since deleted all references to this.

Jetstar have confirmed via Twitter, there res centre and operations (I have a neighbour who is a JQ captain who made a call) and JQ432 on the 13th is a 787

Well my original post had a question mark in there for a reason!

Thanks for checking - a non-AFF friend was not exactly impressed by the rumour ;)

I'm still seeing a number of posts about it, just keep being recycled. I've removed mine.

Cheers

I can't find said competition anywhere on JQ's FB page now?

You can still eat the popcorn though  ;)

Certainly good to keep a microwave packet handy whether it is QF enhancements or JQ scheduling around here.

To be clear, several facebook, twitter & blog posts started appearing so misinformation a plenty - and that's why I asked on AFF, and it is a discussion after all

Currently if you google jetstar 787 november 14th you still get this result:

But yes they've amended it now.

Just booked tickets on the Jetstar first 787 flight from MEL to OOL on the 13th nov
when it got to the seat selection area, I selected some towards the front seats and only paid $11 extra for each ticket, for front row economy......

Get on it quick as I'm sure they will sell out soon.

Welcome Malmacdowall! Honestly surprised she isn't sold out yet?!

Just booked the flight from Melbourne - OOL contemplating wether or not to book the return with a price match or just fly OOL - SYD home on Virgin. Currently thinking I'll get the first 767 from Sydney to Mel of the day. Furthest Seat I could get up the plane with a window was 36A though :/

I Hadn't thought of the price match but figured that taking "advantage" if the virgin lounge / bar would be a good plan and got onto some $95 OOL-MEL flight back

Not going, but I'm hoping some keen AFFer gets out a ruler and measures which seats are 30" and which are 31" in Y.

I am flying down from SYD on QF413 @ 7:45am (I don't think it is the first 767 going down, but a 9:20am arrival time allows for enough time in the event there may be some festivities before the JQ432 flight) Flying back to SYD on QF863

What festivities do you envisage? Free packet of cheese and a coke. That would blow the Death Star budget.

safe travels
