My wife and I flew Etihad Paris to Brisbane in J class arriving back 1/6/14. Since then we've contacted Virgin twice via email about redeeming the points to no avail. Virgin indicated the delay is because we didn't record our velocity account numbers with Etihad. This is BS as the account numbers were recorded directly with Etihad when I made the booking on the Etihad website. My first question is am I being too impatient? If not how can I expedite the process? I appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Geoff

You're not being impatient, no. Have you submitted a retro claim online? Also, do you still have the boarding cards - and do they have your Velocity numbers listed on them?

No we've tossed out the boarding cards. I'll complete a retro claim online as I've only being emailing our claim so far. Thanks for the advice.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm interested to know what the outcome was with this? My wife flew EY from Australia through to Moscow last week & there are still no points in my account. (We pool her points into my account)

My experience last year... More than three months, despite:

1. VFF. Number on the EY booking
2. Submitting boarding passes
3. Having to submit e tickets!

and still getting blamed for not doing the right thing... Huh?

just keep pursuing it.

Was your Velocity number on the boarding passes? I have found you sometimes need to re-confirm at check-in.

I'll have to check with the missus. I checked her in her at Townsville so they were Virgin boarding passes all the way through to Moscow but I never checked on them to see if the FF number was on there. I hope she has kept all the boarding passes, though I'm sure she has.

Points were posted today but I noticed there was nothing for the domestic sector. Is this normal?

I've found the VFF rep on this site to be pretty helpful in situations like these. PM them to see if they can nudge someone to make sure it gets looked at quickly.
