Hi All,

I've recently booked a weekend away using Blue Holidays, (and got an awesome deal). On the confirmation it advised I would earn xx_ Velocity points for my booking.

I booked over 2 weeks ago, but no points yet. Anyone have any idea how long they take to post?

Also, can anyone tell me if I will ALSO earn points for the flights when taken? FWIW I did have to pay extra to get specific flight times, so I'm assuming I'm booked in an earning class, however, you can't manage the booking online as it's a Blue Holidays booking.

Thanks in advance
Oz

I'd assume any points given would generate after the holiday was taken, rather than after it was paid for. I also remember a discussion that Blue holiday flights don't accrue either points or SCs.

Thanks swanning_it. As a newly minted Platinum Velocity member, I was hoping that this first trip in a while would at least earn me SCs. Not so bothered about the miles, though they do come in handy for paying the odd flight.

Anyone with any personal experiences?

Cheers
Oz

I booked a Blue Holiday package for the Melbourne Cup a couple of months ago and was not aware that it did not earn SC's. However as I have just requalified for Gold I don't really care.

Will watch the points situation though.

I sent an email to Virgin Holidays regarding the posting of points and it would appear it can take up to 3 months

Hi xx_

Thank you for booking your recent getaway with Blue Holidays.

At Blue Holidays we are classified as a third party booking agent, and therefore your booking is not automatically added to your Velocity account. All Velocity bookings are manually processed after completion of travel and this information is sent to Velocity at end of each month. What this means is your points may not appear in your account until up to 12 weeks after you have travelled. For example, if you completed your travel on 13 September, Velocity would be advised of your booking at the end of September, and your Velocity points would appear on your statement in mid to late December.

We can assure you that your Velocity number is attached to your Blue Holidays booking, and you will earn points for every dollar spent for the total package price. The number of points earned will depend on your Velocity Membership level at the time of travel. This is calculated as follows:

Red tier: 3 points per dollar
Silver tier: 4.5 points per dollar
Gold tier: 5.25 points per dollar
Platinum: 6 points per dollar

Thank you again for choosing Blue Holidays, a program by Virgin Australia which allows you to Holiday Your Way!
