It did not carry passengers

Yes, it was VH-ZNI. It turned into a QF70XX passenger-carrying flight ex FCO. after the aircraft was fumigated.

It is operating QF81/82 today after returning and had operated SYD-AKL-JFK-AKL-SYD prior to QF5/6

I just saw the footage. Having bugs crawling all over you for 17 hours and being trapped with nowhere to go is really bad.

The bedbugs seen on the airplane appear to be the older nymphs and adults.

This means the BB have been there for some time - likely weeks

Like Dracula, they feed at night and avoid the light.
