Thanks,
I wonder is it only once a month they pass the info across, based on the above.

I've flown EY a few times in the past two months and since the beginning of the new year I have noticed the points being awarded to my account within 5 working days of activity, ie it's been faster this year than the last. Maybe the reporting system has improved somewhere along the line.

I actively ensure to give my card to the check-in agent, and even though I put it in the system when booking, it seems like the agent always spends the time to re enter it in anyway.

Hope this helps.

Well I fly on Monday 27/2 SYD-AUH and then AUH-LHR on the 28/2, but nothing showing yet on VA, nmber appeared on both boaarding passes. I will wait till I get back in 2 weeks before I see about claiming them, to see if they appear in between.

Took two sets of flights on EY recently - the first set posted within a few days, the second set haven't posted yet and it's been two weeks. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Very slow, I flew at the start of January and still waiting for some of the flights to be credited! Oddly it's the flights operated by Virgin that are outstanding??

Well I flew on the 27 & 28th of Feb and the points appeared on the 13th of March. Wonder how long the return trip will take to post.

Well flew back on the 15/16th of March and send a missing points claim on the 11th of April and still no points or any thing from VA.

At what point do you post a claim ?

We flew on Etihad on 21-Jan and they posted on 25-Jan so 4 days.
We also flew them 9-April and there's no sign of points yet after 10 days.

I am approaching platinum, so between these flights that haven't posted, and the flights I have booked with SQ to Asia I should hit platinum. If they delay it by a month, I will fall short, as the number of points I need to get platinum by that time will have increased, and these flights won't cover the difference needed. Does anyone know if is the Processed Date, or the Activity Date of the points that gets used ?

Cheers
LP

in my case, never for our EY J flight we took back in mid-Nov until i claimed for it and even then, it took a phone call after 3 months before it was finally posted recently.

on the plus side, i am now gold due to the posting. :)

Just an update. Finally after over 3 months and a points claim and a number of follow up phone calls they have finally manually posted my missing points, so now VA Gold.

Hi MYT105, did Velocity explain to you what the delay was during the 3 months? Did you try to escalate it in any way?

I sent my retro claim in just under 4 weeks ago but still no points or SC's. They keep telling me 4-6 weeks which I think is ridiculous. This claim will also make me gold.

When I emailed the claim on the 9th of April, I rang them on the 30th of April and was told they batch them and it was only send on the 28th of April to EY.

I followed up after another 5 weeks and was told it would post in a week or so. Again a bit later another call to be told it would post in 7 days. Then last week I rang and was told it would be done manually on the day and they would ring back to confirm when it was done, which happened 30 minutes later.

No real explanation was given even though I did ask it was blamed on EY not responding to them, but they didn't say why or how they were able to do it manually this time but not the other times I rang.

The situation with one of my EY flights is getting ridiculous. I took a set of flights (FCO-FRA-AUH-SYD) at the end of February - the AUH-SYD sector eventually credited after a bit of prodding from me, I doubt I'll get the FCO-FRA sector since it was a codeshare on Alitalia metal, but the FRA-AUH sector remains outstanding. I emailed the silver desk about this at the beginning of May and they replied that the flight wasn't on their database and asked for a copy of my e-ticket. (How that can have happened when the AUH-SYD sector credited fine, and was on the same booking, had the same booking reference, was checked in for at the same time, etc etc, is a complete mystery to me, but that's a different issue I suppose.) Anyway I sent along the e-ticket, along with boarding pass scans for good measure, and they said they'd "escalate the issue with management". Well, two months later I finally get another email, and it's almost the exact same form letter saying they can't find the flight on the database and asking for a copy of the e-ticket. *bashes head against wall*

Hi, just an update for anyone who has had issues with getting velocity points and SC's for Etihad flights.

I flew late May and sent a retro claim with copy boarding passes via email on 31st May. I called basically once a week getting the same response that I have to wait 4-6 weeks. I escalated to a supervisor last week and she told me that she would send an email to Etihad to find out the status of the claim. Made another call today and the girl told me points and SC's will be posted within 48 hours. Checked an hour ago and it's finally been posted!

So to sum up if you're having issues try to escalate the call and don't take no for an answer and hopefully you'll get through to someone who knows what they are doing!

Or alternately the message could just be that it takes 4-6 weeks as advertised.

Yes but as you can read from the previous posts people have waited a lot longer then 4-6 weeks and some people still haven't had their points posted since February.

Hi fellow FFlyers,
I am flying to Europe with Etihad but want to claim status credits and points from my velocity account, it will push me to gold if I do. I just wanted to double check that the only way to claim this is to submit a retro claim to velocity with a copy of eticket or boarding pass. This is all that is mentioned on the velocity website, just wanted to check incase theres another option to automatically do this. I have booked the ticket with Etihad and the flight is not a code share with Virgin so i imagine that the retro claim is my only option. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks ,

Bring along your Velocity card and ask the check-in agent to add your frequent flyer number to the booking. In theory the points and SCs should then be automatically credited to your Velocity account, though as you can see from this thread that process is very hit-and-miss. You'll probably end up spending months bouncing emails back and forth anyway, but putting your Velocity number on the booking might grease the wheels a little bit.
