How long does partner gold last for the partner

Hi all

This QFF membership year I am likely, with fair skies and a following breeze, and booking a couple of Y trips as J, to get the 2400 SCs to make PG. Which will delight Mrs Pineapple. I would only clock over PG in the last month of my membership year (April)

One thing I am unclear on is how long the PG lasts. Extract from the T&Cs below where it refers to the offer expiring, in my case, one month after the end of the year, i.e. end May. Does this refer to the time limit for taking up the PG offer, so I have to nominate for that offer by end May, or the time limit for PG itself? I am thinking the partner's PG membership would run the same period as my WP renewal, i.e. the next membership year, because otherwise the reference to retention in 20.3.2 makes no sense. But just want to be sure, to be sure.

20.3 Platinum Member additional benefit20.3.1 A Platinum Member may be offered the opportunity to choose one of a selection of benefits (as determined and offered by Qantas), and that selection may include Complimentary Gold Membership, when a Platinum Member first reaches 2400 Status Credits within a single Membership Year. Details of any such benefit or selection and any additional terms and conditions applicable to this benefit are provided at qantas.com. Any offers made under this clause 20.3.1 will expire at the end of the relevant Membership Year that the Member achieves 2400 Status Credits or, if the Member achieves 2400 Status Credits in their Membership Anniversary Month in that Membership Year, the end of the following month...
20.3.2 In respect of any Complimentary Gold Membership offered under clause 20.3.1:

(a) each Member may have only one nominated family member or friend per Membership Year. Retention of Complimentary Gold Membership in subsequent Membership Years will require the Platinum Member to accrue 2400 Status Credits and select the Complimentary Gold Membership option under clause 20.3.1 in each subsequent Membership Year. The Complimentary Gold Membership Year will be aligned with that of the primary Platinum Member;

Mine lasted for 12 months. The sad thing is, I didn't realise all the benefits other than free QP access. I travelled overseas on gold with my mother, and didn't realise I always had priority boarding and lined up in this huge queue in HK. Thankfully a guy was checking all the boarding passes in the queue. He spotted mine and brought us straight to the front of the queue.

They get it for the remainder of the year in which the 2400 SC's are achieved and the next year.

If you get to the 2400 SC's before April, you have until the end of April to activate it and Mrs Pineapple will have it until the end of April 2015.

If you reach the 2400 SC's in April you have until the end of May to activate it; Mrs Pineapple will still have it until the end of April 2015.

Mrs Pineapple's QF membership year will be aligned with your's (April) if not already.

Yes although I am not certain about the 4 flight minimum rule.
