Has anybody ever tried to get a late checkout to say 6pm or 8pm - even if needing to pay - as a Platinum?
Looking at Hotels in Jakarta to connect with next flight departing after midnight
My considered options
1. check out and hang around hotel lobby with bags stored
2. ask for late as possible free late checkout
3. pay more for late check out
4. pay for another night at original hotel
5. move to cheap hotel near airport and just leave at 10pm

Thanks

Your best bet is to pay for an extra night or look for a hotel closer to the airport.
We have stayed at both properties in PIK and that is fine but the Ibis Styles at the airport is only about $30 day and has free transport to terminal. Can have a swim or just relax

There seems to be around 4-5 Accor hotels (and 2 at the airport) that offer dayroom. If you were keen on having the room longer, I'd ask the hotel you are staying at as some times there might be something they can organise.

Personally if going for a midnight flight, I'd just check out as normal (storing the luggage), then enjoy my day.

Maybe if the hotel had an afternoon tea in the lounge, I might seek if a later check out would work out but usually its not worked out for me.

You could book add an extra night and check out early

The Ibis Styles at CGK will automatically give you a late check out at least until 4pm as Gold. I suspect Platinum could be 5 or 6pm before they start charging a fee. Could be later. You could contact them.

They also will provide a free private transfer to the airport.

Most airlines out of CGK open checkin 3 hrs prior - which is a PITA.

As a Platinum, I didn't achieve anything post 4pm. A couple of times I just decamped to an Ibis or similar, your option 5.

Re your option 1, the hotel will probably let you continue to use facilities until late - maybe even use the pool.

Mercure Haneda once gave me 6pm on request while I was Gold!

Thanks everyone
Looks like it might be Raffles followed by Ibis Styles Jakarta Airport for $46.
I'll write to Raffles in advance though - no harm in asking.
If you’re using the Ibis Styles effectively as a “day room”, they should also do an early checkin but I guess you’d want to hang around the Raffles longer?

But the Ibis Styles has decent size rooms. I’ve never used the pool there. There is a restaurant and room service.

The Comp welcome drinks don’t include booze. Well, not for Gold IME.

I've only had raffles Bali give me late check-out at 6pm... Which honestly is as good value as it gets.

But in general I don't get anything beyond 4pm at best.

@Duffa check the Accor day rooms page - may be cheaper.

Both Ibis at the airport are there
Thank you so much for the link.
I had resorted to third party sites to try to achieve this.
Thankfully the only time I actually followed through the 25 hours hotel at the Gare du Nord in Paris gave me an early check in at 8h30 and I wsa able to cancel the third party day room reservation at the last minute.
But it's great to know there is a direct option.
The 25 hours isn't included but a lot of nice Paris hotels are.
Including my chic, discreet new favorite, Hotel L'Échiquier Opéra Paris - MGallery Collection.

That’s a very handy page! Book marked!

Quick check, and it’s a few $s cheaper with the day rate.
A true example of "from the sublime to the ridiculous!"
But better than hanging around the airport landslide - where’s there’s very little seating and loads of people hanging around…

I’ve had 6pm once as a Plat and a good number of 4pms.

@Duffa it depends if you want to remain in your room or just want the hotel facilities.

I’ve also had several places where a “comfort room” (or similar name) has been available.

Generally a standard room without a bed that you can book for 30 mins to shower and change before departing.

I’ve used this option four or five times over the years and it’s allowed me to continue using the hotel facilities (including lounge in one instance) or make the most of the day and still shower and change before going to the airport.

Have had success in Bali (Novotel) and a non Accor property, Singapore (Roxy Grand Mercure twice) and Sydney (Mercure) and in all cases was at no extra charge.

May be worth asking Rafffles if this is an option.

Is there an IHG version? Trying to check SCL. We have a VERY long layover at the end of the month.
If you're staying in Santiago I would suggest avoiding Centro and staying in Providencia or El Golf.

Don’t know for IHG but there is one for Hilton. Just use the regular booking page but select the same date for check-in and check-out (that may work for ING, dunno).

Any available hotels with a day rate will then show in the hilton site, It works well for places like LAX and ORD waiting for late evening departures to Australia or Europe.

We prefer Lastarria (booked nearby there again) but we have a long layover on our way to BA first.
