How good is velocity ?

Okay - maybe this has been asked a thousand times - but rather tired of paying the high interest rates (and late fees!) for FF-based credit cards (but resigned to my fate), could anyone tell me is Velocity actually worth bothering with ? Okay now that I've asked that question, i've googled them and joined up as its Free - but am I wasting my time?

[QFF, SQ, Cathay, Hilton and United airmiles member - and now velocity! - but not associated with any of them, though my work does do have Amex as a client.]

You could credit QF to Cathay or the reverse, or you could use AA.

I have QFF and AA and decided which is best now, i used to credit all to QF but i get better miles on AA for some airlines and my JAL flights pre oneworld.

And the answer to credit card interest is a 55day free card and just make sure you pay it off, fees on the other hand are a lot harder to avoid.

Personally I think the Earth credit card is very good value:
earth - Home
It has a low annual fee ($49) so you don't have to spend much on the card before you start actually getting a benefit out of it, and the interest rate is also low (12.99%).

However, if you're actually racking up interest payment and late fees on these cards, I'd steer clear of the FF and rewards cards totally. You'll almost certainly be better off seeking out a card with a low interest rate, low fees etc. than one that is higher on those counts, but has a rewards program.
