Is this worth a precious one hour out of two before a long flight?

Anyone with any experiences?

Cheers.

It's what makes the hour precious. Plenty of time in the second hour for food and bubbly.

You can also just get a 20 min massage to better balance your lounge time.

I would take it.

I can only speak for the MEL FLounge, but I've definitely paid for worse. Go for it!

In Syndey I've had facial with neck and shoulder massage, 1/2 hr full back and 1 hr body massages and all have been excellent. I find that it depends on who is flying, if there are a few CL they get the 1 hr, I have only had hour long when it's quiet day.

So go for it and enjoy.

Both of us have a treatment and we both recommend it.
It does not matter whether it is MEL or SYD as both are equally good.

yes it is worth getting there 2.5 hrs early to enjoy the food and the spa.

I'd never turn up early to the airport otherwise...

I would say that the massage good and worth the hour.

I had a hard/firm massage that suited me just fine. Mrs Flying Fox had a softer massage which she said she would have preferred a firm one. Ask when you fill in the forms for your preference for firm/hard or soft (not sure if I've use the correct terms).

Very topical. I just had one about 20 minutes ago.

The massages are great. The masseuse's name was Nick (Sydney), I think. Was about 25 minutes.

Am enjoying pork belly, penfolds, and tenderloin right now....:)

I enjoyed a half hour massage when in the FLounge on 30th Mar, and Mrs Paddy a one hour facial / neck/shoulder massage on 7th Apr.

When you've worked your tail off the day before a trip (as we both did), done your packing for the month you're away, instructed the little Paddys on looking after the house, dog and cat while you're away... in other words had the usual pre-big trip stress attack, it is well worth getting to the airport a couple of hours ahead of time to enjoy the spa and restaurant. Bliss :D:D:D

I've had the facial/massage combo in both Melbourne and Sydney.

Melbourne was definitely better - possibly as it was quiet that day and they spent about 40 minutes instead of the 20-30 allocated.

Sydney was a bit rushed and the beautician had nails too long which wasn't as pleasant with the massage part of it.

I have had 2 massages from Nick...:)

I wish I'd seen this when I was ther, I was eating in the SYD F lounge from 1pm to 3pm (it was a good lunch, squid, stir fry, lava cake, tattinger, bollineger, penfolds Shiraz and noble one :) )

I also had a massage with nick at 3:30, it was a good start to a lot of flying to come over the nxt couple of weeks.

Was fortunate enough to have massage today at the Sydney F Lounge, without being to rude, it's probably fortunate that it is complimentary. BTW I read somewhere that it was for F passengers only, this is not the case.

I've been in Mel F when it's very quiet and they approach you in the lounge inviting you to go for a massage. Great service all round in the F lounge.

I've used the SYD spa quite a few times & found the young lady that you meet at the front desk to be a little disinterested, distant & appears to crave to be somewhere else when approached . The only time the reception has ever approached something like a happy smiley demeanour is when I travel F with QF & have pre-booked.

The majority of times I've used the spa has been traveling F with BA or J with BA or CX or whY with QF - no pre-booking & therefore, the sour puss attitude seems to come out to play!

I have found all other staff in the lounge to be happy, friendly & ready to please.

nail, head, BANG

F passengers and CL members can prebook a few days before their arrival, while everyone else needs to book when they get to the lounge, space permitting.


F can only book day before and under impression same for CL (could be wrong about CL).

SYD always too full of appointments.

In 2009 use to be only F and J pax but now it's anyone in lounge, but having said that in 2011 asked front desk girl if Y pax could have massage/facial she said no but in June 2012 asked same girl about Y and she said everyone in Flounge was entiled to facility and has been this way for a number of years. when I said last year she told my Y friend they couldn't so I think she has her good and bad days (more bad).
