I flew J with them once in Dec 2010 from LAX-TPE and was quite happy with them.

Mind you, that was also the tail end of a year where I totaled approx 240k miles over 100 flights in Y, so any J flight felt special!

Friend of mine who is a tour guide has enjoyed his Eva Air J class flights.

I flew them BKK-TPE in J about this time last year. Was an A330 fitted with the same sort of lie-flat-at-slight-angle-to-floor seat that SQ and VA have in their A330s. I'd describe both the hard and soft product as very good. Great service, comfortable seat, good entertainment system. I'd happily book them for long haul, especially at that price, is that return?

No...one way, but allows for a stopover in TPE

Haven't flown them but from on here (or elsewhere on the net, can't remember the exact place) i think if you can get the Royal Laurel J class planes, they have the same fit out as CX and so the hard product is very good, i think people may have commented that the food and beverages etc maybe slightly less than on some of the better airlines, but that can all be subjective as well... On EVA air's website they say which routes have the Royal Laurel planes which seem to include most US routes...

A quick search doesn't seem to reveal anything current about BR.

I am looking for some reasonable J fares to the US next year and found Eva Air offering BNE-TPE and then TPE-LAX for $3783

I was going to ask about things to do in Teipei and found

So how good is Eva Air and are there any better J deals around ?

Fiji Airways is offering fares as low as $2257 one way in J (I checked March next year - not sure of your exact dates). This would be buying two tickets - one to NAN in AUD (~$830) and then a second (in FJD) to LAX (~1430).

Just flew with them BKK - LHR on there 777-300 in J, very impressed! Excellent service, comfortable seat, decent IFE, also enjoyed the food and Dom P. As good as I have experienced in J

Have you exhausted all your USDM ff points? I'd say you'd be better of purchasing some of these & doing an award ticket to the US & back. When they have the bonus points offers you'd probably pay USD2,500.00 ish for a return in J.

I am not a USDM member...is it too late to join and buy ?

I have just joined Lifemiles but still deciding whether to buy from the current offer

I need one way in Oct

If you are already with LM then it's easy to log on and see what they have available. bearing in mind you only need 40% of the required miles.

USDM will be based on a return basis. So pretty much wasting a flight if you only need one way.

Did you get the new royal laurel class seating? I'll be flying them LHR BKK in Oct 14
