Hi all

the Qantas website lists one of the benefits of being platinum as being told about upgrades up to 48 hours before the flight - it's now past T-48 and I have yet to hear anything. Booking still says upgrade requested.

I'm wondering whether I still might hear or if I should abandon hope?

What have others experienced? How far out have you heard about the success or otherwise of an upgrade?

It seems to me that the upgrades are processed at T-7 Days, and then T-48 Hours and T-24Hours. I have been following this of late because I have put in requests five or six times in the last couple of months.

If the upgrade has not been confirmed at T-7 days then the next window for me has been T-48 - i.e. nothing inbetween. If not at T-48 then it has been at T-24 almost on the dot. All my upgrades were confirmed but definitely at the specific times.

Just my experience so would also be interested in others experiences.

Thanks both - I feel a bit more hopeful (although I am trying not to get my hopes up too much).

As a WP I usually get the notification at T-23 or T-6. I received one at T-60...but the aircraft was half empty [QF28]

Well it turns out my experience was the same as defurax's - almost exactly T-23 (5.17pm got a text message, flight is 4.15pm tomorrow). Anyway, very happy as instead of spending 24 hours nearly in economy (and I couldn't even get a bulkhead seat!) I get to spend 24 hours in J on the A380. Big smiles at our house!
