Greetings FFers
just a quickie with hopefully a quick answer. The missus, mini UXB and my good self are travelling MEL-HKG-LHR on QF29 on 14-3-12 in J. Mini UXB is 5 and the departure time of 23.55 is well past Zzzz time. So the question is if it is running ontime how soon can we board and get mini comfortable and snoring whilst me and the missus sample the fizz?;)

Thanks in advance Danger UXB

As soon as they call for ppl to board, wouldn't be any earier. That said families with small children are always invited to board first.

Also the time difference between LHR and MEL would negate the affects of a 23:55 departure anyway. I've oftenfound kids re far more adaptable to timezone changes than adults, so don't get too worried about the late departure.

I'll also mention that my then 3 year old sleep the whole way from FRA to SYD, when returning from our trip away.

What status are you with the airlines? If QF WP or BA Gold (i.e. OWE) I would be checking in as early as you can and getting to the F lounge as early as you can - then see if one of the meeting rooms is free and parking yourself in there - get the little grenade comfy and sleepy on one of the sofas so you can enjoy the fizz then. Hopefully you might be able to transition the little grenade into your seat - I would actually be boarding quite late if that was the case
