How does Ticketmaster US work with someone offering me tickets for an event.

Hi all

I purchased two tickets to a New York Yankee's game for September when the wife and I are visiting (for the first time). I ordered the tickets via Ticket Monster and got an email from them saying I would get a separate email from them with details of the delivery (I selected e-tickets as the option and not mailed out). Overnight I have received an email from Ticketmaster US advising of an offer of two tickets from someone.

Are the two possibly linked in some way? Any of the seasoned US travellers aware?

The email I got from Ticket Monster also mentions that they connect with their ticket partners to confirm the purchase and co-ordinate delivery. Is this what has happened by chance?

Its the first time I have been to the US and used Ticket Monster so I am not sure exactly how it works. I presumed it would be like booking tickets here in Oz whereby I get an email with the tickets attached to either print.

Thanks

Ticket Monster is a ticket reseller, so they'll have secured your tickets from elsewhere: one of their "ticket partners." In this case Ticketmaster, who seem to be reselling on behalf of someone else (a season ticket holder?)

This makes sense based on the comms received.

Thanks for the reply. Whilst the reviews on Trustpilot aren't flattering it doesn't appear the whole thing is a complete scam.
