Accor Properties in Beijing

Depends on your status and amount willing to spend. I think the Fairmont is probably the best but showing its age a bit.
There's not much difference in them price wise really, Accor Platinum Explorer+. It's a short stay and I'll visit the Forbidden city

For spend I was more meaning if you want lounge access.
Fairmont you would need to pay for Gold Floor whereas the others your Plat gives you access. Don’t know of price difference

Guess I'll do Sofitel but the google reviews are horrendous

I've booked the Sofitel for the start of next month. Using a China Accor voucher (a 50% off voucher) rate comes to ~$130 so my expectations are set accordingly.

Last year I stayed at the Novotel Beijing Peace but this has since left the program which is a shame as it had a good location.

One other thing to mention is that for anything in China you need to remember that google is blocked so the only people leaving reviews are those with a VPN/roaming sim hence just 107 reviews. I find it much better to read reviews on trip.com

Just discovered the fairmont is closing 1 September for a renovation with no opening date announced.

Yeah, looks like a stack of Fairmont’s are getting a decent upgrade.
Fairmont Beijing was definitely overdue for one and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for when it re-opens
