How do you get sequence 1?

Tongue-in-cheek but still. I check in literally the second the flight opens, and the lowest sequence # I've ever got is around 12 or so.
 
Hilarious, I aimed for this recently and got some cough number. Thought about it for a bit then figured it was others connecting so I didn't stand a chance. I've given up on the pursuit!
 
I don't know (or care really) how you get seq 001, but yesterday on a VA flight SYD-CBR I happened to glance at my BP and it showed seq no 001. Hmm I thought and moved on.
