How do I minimise Qantas taxes and charges

In this article they make out they are reducing the credit card fee ripoff but they aren't at all.
Qantas cuts card fees after complaints

They are still going to drill you for using a credit card for international fares. The only change is the reduction in fees for debit cards. There shouldn't really be fees on them anyway should there?

Fees for credit-card payments on domestic and trans-Tasman routes will drop by about 10 per cent. But Qantas is leaving unchanged its $30 credit-card surcharge for international bookings.

My favourite quote:

Qantas has maintained that it does not profit from its surcharges.

So if the credit card company charges at most 3% (likely 1%) on the transaction and you spent $2K on four airfares to NZ perhaps that adds up to $120??

Thanks to all that have helped.I have taken the advice from Casanovawa and booked out of ADL and into PER with fees of $286- a good saving and also using points to get to Departure and Arrival points.

Surcharges should be outlawed. Both fuel and credit card.

It cannot be that difficult to incorporate both of these surcharges into the airfare. Can it?
