I've been a QF Gold FF for the last 3 or so years, however I will drop to bronze soon (was comped Gold this latest year, so i doubt i will get comped again).

The problem is that I have a stack of points (about 800k ish) I want to redeem and not enough time to book a lot of holidays.

How bad does it get for classic flight redemption chances once you are bronze? I like booking EK F from AUS-EU (around 160k each way)

Thank you in advance.

Slightly OT but won't you have a soft landing to Silver not drop straight to Bronze

You should, yes. Some say 4 segments on QF flight codes are required for that.

Though if you don't then fly enough to maintain PS that's postponing the inevitable for another year.

In my experience, you won't find it any different on parter airlines, but international redemptions on Qantas will become much harder. You will not be able to redeem premium cabins on QF until around 10months out, by which time, premium seats will be snatched up.

4 segments aren't required for soft landing.

The really sad part about this story is that you're not flying. Or at least flying enough :-(
