The Townhouse in Wagga Wagga has complimentary access to the pool and gym across the road. Can't vouch for the gym but the pool is a pleasant spot for laps.

My dream thread! Massive fitness junkie here.

Seems like the Hiltons tend to have a good gym set up across Aus.

Would anybody have any recommendations as to which Sydney hotels have the best gym? (90% of my travel will be to SYD)

I've tried the Intercontinental Sydney's before and it was not bad.
Shangri-La had an excellent gym.

Will be looking to compare Intercontinental, Hilton, Accors (Sofitel, Pullman) and SPG's (4 points, westin, sheraton)

We stayed at 4 points in Sydney in January and no gym on site but you can use a Fitness Plus 24/7 just around the corner.

Shangri La Jakarta had a awesome gym.

I am a member of Snap Fitness and I generally use the gym close by to the hotel. In capital cities never more than a 5 or 10 minute walk in the CBD.

Sydney Hilton is the best for me. Full commercial gym - it's a paid gym for members (free for Hilton guests) with a pool and saunas (wet and dry). One of the main reasons I stay there. Everything else Ie: small room sizes / limited upgrades / coffee taxes does leave a bad taste.

I find hotel gyms a little hard as sometimes they don't open until like 7am and close at 9pm and normally I am all done and showered by 7am and ready to start the day with the family.

One of the best hotel gyms I have used is at the Langham Xintiandi in Shanghai. It also have a great pool for laps and unlike many other hotels in China, they do not require you to wear a swimming cap.
Traders Hotel in Kuala Lumpur also had a decent gym, didnt like the pool though.

Need to go to Asia more. I gym around 7-9:30 cos nothing opens til 11! Even then I sometimes have to spend an hour at breakfast!

I'm looking for an airport hotel near Heathrow with a good gym. Anyone knows what the gym is like at the Sofitel terminal 5?

Having a bar around the pool not exactly conducive to use

Nope, even when going on an early morning I felt as if I was on display :p Got a few laps done though and it is an excellent hotel but but would never stay there for the pool....

Just spent over three weeks travelling and here are my memorable gyms in order:

1. The Kingsley, Cork, Ireland - large gym, squat racks, very heavy dumbbells, hex bar deadlift area, shared with the public.
2. Comfort Hotel Boersparken, Oslo, Norway - medium size but is used in the afternoon as a crossfit box, crossfit rack can be used so three people could potentially do squats at the same time. Also had a prowler set up, machines, heavy dumbbells.
3. Hilton Belfast Templepatrick Golf & Country Club - large gym, mostly machines though, shared with the public.
4. Radisson Blu, Galway, Ireland - medium size, older machines, had a squat rack, shared with the public.

These three were all similar in quality with a fair few machines, cardio equipment, dumbbells etc.
- Conrad, Hong Kong
- Rydges, Sydney Airport
- Hilton, Dublin Airport

Even in Asia my daughter will want to go for a swim before we start our day or have breakfast or something...
