HI All

I have a question which I want to ask the good people of AFF.
I booked a 2 night stay at one of the Art Series hotels via hotels.com about 1 week ago and it cost $339.
After my wife told me she signed up to the priorityguestrewards site and that they give a 10% discount.
I did a search for the same hotel room and it was significantly cheaper $287 + CC fee (3.5%)

I logged onto hotels.com site and provided a screenshot and asked if they can price match.
They email back and said because the screenshot didn't have anything on there cancellation policy, they won't match.

I am unsure what to do now.
The main reason I used hotels.com is cause I have 7 reward night currently and wanted to add these 2 so I only need 1 more night to get a free night.

However i think the difference in money is too much to just stay with hotels.com for the rewards

So should I cancel the hotels.com and book it via priorityguestrewards or should I try and push them a bit more to price match

Thanks everyone

Hotels.com will not generally match loyalty program members rates, which is what the Priority Guest Rewards rate is.

I think you'll be struggling to get them to match.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

like oz_mark suggests, you won't get a price match, but if the rate is cancellable without fee this may be an option. Also hotels.com have a rewards program too which effectively works out to a 10% discount

Hotels.com tried to rip off Duffa junior - promised him a price match via redeemable coupon (~~$290) and then charged him top whack and sent nothing via email.
D Jr didn't come running to Daddy - no way!
He rang them - harangued them about his consumer rights and a: demanded his coupon by return email b: threatened a chargeback on his Amex (BTW 75,000 points and fee free 1st year)
and then waited on the phone until said coupon was in his inbox!
They sent 2 coupons - total value $340 !!
Wonder who
he learned all that from????

Grammar naz_s (From whom, I wonder, did he learn that?)

If booking via hotels.com always check the price booking direct with the hotel to see if cheaper. However the flexibility of being cancellable is sometimes worth booking through hotels.com vs direct depending on price difference.

I like PGR. If you even have just 5 stays in a yr to obtain platinum you get some nice benefits at GHA properties also.
