I was wondering what is the closest hotel to Auckland Airport. Or the closest "nice" hotel?

I normally stayed in Ventura Inn Auckland Airport. It has free airport transfers, free breakfast (continental). Rooms are clean even though not spectacular, but it does the job for me nicely. I would recommend it.

Also you can try Holiday Inn Auckland Airport, it costs more than Ventura Inn and I think it costs like $10NZ for airport transfer though. You need to check.

Holiday Inn is nice, but its a fair distance from the actual airport terminals - not just a short walk like in MEL.

I agree with the Ventura Inn is a good value option.

Can only concur with the previous posters. Ventura Inn is quite adequate, has a free shuttle and a breakfast (cereal, toast, etc.) included in the price.

Holiday Inn is clearly a better property, but generally costs more than Ventura, and the shuttle is NZD10 return.

I would stay at HI if there wasn't much difference in price, but Ventura, as stated, is adequate.

While I did not need to pay in March this year, they now charge NZD9.95 for 24 Hours in room.:-|
