Hotel hold or pre-authorisation

Bit of an old thread, but if anyone reads, and does want to make a booking at a certain one hotel/apartment, and if they search.
(((Sebel Perth West, Aire Apartments))), note that with institutions, the card you provided on the check in, for the pre authorization/card hold, can take a very and I mean, a very very long time for them to release.
Mine has been weeks now.

Hotels don’t hold the funds, banks do, it’s dependant on you bank not the hotel, for instance Wise hold funds for 30 days. Hotels can shorten the time by cancelling the hold, but they seldom do.
