Was just googling reviews etc on upmarket hotels in HK and your report provided more info than anything on the web. Much appreciated. I'd better start saving. ;)

Are you thinking about Rosewood? If so, you won't be disappointed. We've now stayed at three of their properties - Mexico, Paris, Hong Kong, they have all been superb.

The family that now own Rosewood have big plans for the brand, they're opening properties all over the place.

The Peak tram is currently out of action due to maintenance so we took a taxi.

You should have walked up. I did tha few years ago with my 15kg son in a carrier on my back! A very hot and sweaty walk, as it was September, but very rewarding.

Liquor store in the shopping centre .... fantastic array of stock

Wow, some serious Whisky, there.

Cracking TR @amaroo. I have always stayed Kowloon side, as well as having worked there, and I prefer it to the Island, because there is more variety of life. The Island is still good to visit though.

Just caught up on this first rate TR. The Rosewood Hotel looks like a place to aspire to  and the food presented in the TR was saliva inducing !! Cheers CM

Lung King Heen looks great - how much for that sort of meal for yum cha I wonder?

Amazing TR. Rosewood definitely looks like a place to stay at, and you've got some delicious restaurant recommendations too. Many thanks for your insight.
