Hong Kong In-town check-in

Resurrecting this thread again, What happens with the early checkin at Kowloon if I've requested a points upgrade for the segment? Will I be notified of this when checking in early, or will they simply not confirm the upgrade? I'm due to fly QF27 on Tuesday morning, so was hoping to check in the day before ... Also, does this checkin include your baggage, or does this have to be dropped off at CLK? I have an item that I need to send through fragile, so am hoping this won't be a problem.

Not sure about the upgrade, but I guess that might depend on how early you check in.

And yes, you dump your luggage there too.

Its no different to if you OLCI early. If the upgrade comes through after you have been checked-in, you will receive your new boarding pass at the lounge or at the gate.

Also, you may want to check your flight number ;)

Thanks for the info codash1099 & NM, and of course, I meant QF 29 :). Any idea of the baggage situation for fragile items?

No direct experience, but with the exception of adding one extra set of handling, I don't think it would be any worse than checking in at the airport.
