The Upper House ( located at Admiralty) is a fantastic hotel I've stayed there twice recently. They have a great deal with Amex if you have a platinum charge or centurion card. Deal includes stay 3 nights get 1 free, early check in, late check out, free breakfast in the Michelin star restaurant on the roof with panoramic views of the water, US$100 credit against your stay. All the beer & lollies in the minibar are free you only pay for the wine. The rooms are massive.

Couldn't recommend it any higher if you like a boutique hotel in a great location you can't go wrong.

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate all the considerate recommendations & experiences for HKG hotels.. :D Thanks! I have not yet committed to any property yet.. Still swaying toward Langham Place or Conrad... May just have to flip a coin
Cheers,

Langham Place in Mongkok. Fabulous hotel for the price
Another vote here - I recently stayed at "The Langham" in TST... it is the sister hotel and was fantastic. Good location to walk to the ferry plus great shopping around too.

I got mixed-up and turned up at Langham Place - they kindly gave the kids balloons and ordered us a taxi down to The Langham. I copped a bit of flack from the family after directing us around HKG on the MTR with luggage, only to end up at the wrong hotel. I say it was character building and we got a lot out of it!

Anyway, Langham Place looked great and would definitely recommend either one. We are staying at the Melbourne Langham next month which is rated number 1/199 hotels in Melbourne on TA.

It seems as though the OP's budget is greater than this but I always want to throw The Salisbury in here. Extremely cheap with a great location in Kowloon (right next to the Peninsula). Easy walk to the Ferry and MTR. Great when travelling with a family.

I'll put in a belated vote for Traders Hotel (Shangri-La) at 508 Queen's Road West, Western District. I love this place. The renovated Traders Club Harbour View rooms have a 180 degree harbour view and are spacious for Hong Kong. The Traders Club rooms include access to the Traders Lounge on the top floor which offers a complimentary hot and cold buffet breakfast and complimentary evening coughtails and hors d'oeuvres. The lounge has sweeping harbour views. There is a rooftop gym with about 270 degree views and also a reasonably sized rooftop pool.

The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood but within 2-3 minutes walk of the Kennedy Town tram, Whitty St stop, (just HK $2 for all destinations). Central is just a 5 minute tram ride away, and you never seem to wait more than 5 minutes for a tram. On arrival there's a shuttle from Honk Kong station.
