Fly nonstop from Melbourne for $2,735 aboard Virgin Australia Business Class, departing between 6 July and 28 September 2017.

This Business Class fare is booked in “I” class (Business Saver) and earns 2 Velocity points per mile flown. So for example a Melbourne to Hong Kong round-trip potentially earns 18,456 Velocity points and 240 Status Credits – that pretty much earns you Silver membership (250) and enough for a one-way economy redemption between Sydney and Auckland (17,800)

A bit steep given the other options, but great if you're used to shelling out $5,000 on CX or QF!

Yes... I just booked PAL to HKG for $1200 return (i know, i know, bad example - they must have been desperate).

It's a good price for The Business. A little cheaper than a SYD-PER return.
